The oldest son of New York real estate entrepreneur, Seymour Durst, Robert Durst grew up in Scarsdale, New York. He married Kathleen McCormack in 1973, and after she went missing in 1982, Durst has been considered a suspect. Further suspicion was raised with the unsolved 2000 killing of his confidante, Susan Berman, thought to be a key witness in the investigation into Kathie's disappearance, as well as the subsequent killing and dismemberment of a neighbor in Galveston, Texas. Durst, who has consistently maintained his innocence, was arrested on March 14th, 2015.

A friend and neighbor of Robert Durst in Galveston, Texas, Morris Black was killed in 2000. Durst stood trial for his murder but was acquitted.

Michael Struk was the NYPD detective who worked in the 20th Precinct. He was the first investigator on the Kathleen Durst missing person's case. 

Along with her brother, Sareb, Mella Kaufman was raised by Susan Berman.

Hollywood producer Lynda Obst believes that Susan Berman saw something in Robert Durst that reminded Susan of her gangster father. 

Kirk Sistrunk was the Galveston County district attorney during the Morris Black murder trial.

Around the time of her death, Susan Berman told her close friend Kim Lankford she was working on something big, but would not reveal the details.

Kathleen Durst grew up in Long Island, New York, and married Robert Durst in 1973. At the time of her disappearance in 1982, she was a fourth-year medical student at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. 

A writer friend of Susan Berman, Julie Smith remembers mentioning Kathie Durst's disappearance to Susan and being told that there were people "out to get Bobby." 

Judge Susan Criss presided over the trial of Robert Durst for the murder of Morris Black. 

Writer Susan Berman served as Robert Durst's spokesperson after Kathie went missing. The daughter of Las Vegas gangster Dave Berman, Susan was found murdered in her home in 2000, shortly before she was scheduled to be interveiwed about Kathie's disappearance. 

Long-time head of the Durst Organization, Seymour appointed Douglas, as his successor. Seymour Durst passed away in 1995.

Along with his sister, Mella, Sareb Kaufman was raised by Susan Berman and considered her to be his mother. 

Joel Bennett served as an assistant criminal district attorney during the Morris Black murder trial. 

Jim McCormack has been trying to find out what happened to Kathie since she went missing. 

Jeanine Pirro served as the Westchester County D.A. when Kathie Durst's case was reopened in 2000. Convinced that there was more to the story than what was uncovered in 1982, she stepped up the investigation into the case.

Gilberte Najamy grew concerned when Kathy failed to show up for a meeting in New York City. Before her disappearance, Kathy told her, "Promise me if something happens, you'll check it out."

Geraldine McInerney was the last to see Kathie in New York City. 

Evan is the son of Wendy Durst Kreeger, Robert Durst's younger sister. 

Ellen Strauss helped collect evidence along with Geraldine McInerney, Eleanor Schwank, and Gilberte Najamy regarding Kathie's disappearance.

Eleanor Schwank is Kathie's friend from Western Connecticut State University of Nursing. 

Edward Wright was hired by Nick Scoppetta, then attorney to Robert Durst, to look into Kathleen Durst's disappearance.

Second son of Seymour Durst, Douglas runs the family real estate empire, the Durst Organization. Seymour passed over his oldest son, Robert, to appoint Douglas to this position in 1994. 

Houston-based criminal attorney Dick DeGuerin was part of the defense team assembled by Robert Durst for his trial in Galveston, Texas.

A successful real estate broker, she married Robert Durst in 2000. She helped make arrangements for Durst during his time in jail, staying in touch by phone. 

Cody Cazalas served as the lead investigator on the Morris Black murder case in Galveston, Texas.

Mother of Robert Durst, she died after falling from the roof of her home when Robert was 7. 

Ann McCormack believes meeting Robert Durst was the "worst thing that ever happened" to her daughter.
