The Sympathizer:
A limited series, from executive producers Park Chan-wook and Robert Downey Jr., based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Viet Thanh Nguyen.
Plans start at $9.99/month.
The Sympathizer follows a half-French, half-Vietnamese communist spy known simply as The Captain. After witnessing the fall of Saigon, The Captain finds himself starting over in Los Angeles, balancing his duties for his South Vietnamese Army boss and his CIA handler while continuing to work covert ops for the victorious Communist Party in Vietnam. An espionage thriller and cross-cultural satire delving into the aftermath and legacy of the Vietnam War, the limited series explores how one man, caught between multiple worlds, reckons with his identity and loyalties as a sympathetic double agent.
