The Story

Created by Emmy®-nominated writer/producer Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, The Sex Lives of College Girls follows four college roommates as they arrive at New England’s prestigious Essex College. A bundle of contradictions and hormones, these girls are equal parts lovable and infuriating as they live out their new, free lives on campus.

The Characters

Kimberly

Pauline Chalamet stars as Kimberly, the valedictorian of a public high school in a humble Arizona suburb. Smart, caring, earnest, and ambitious, she’s prepared for college academically — but not so much socially.
Bela

Amrit Kaur stars as Bela, who is comedy-obsessed, super confident, and by most standards, “a lot.” Bela is never afraid to say what she’s thinking. She describes herself as “extremely sex-positive” — even though she has no sexual experience.
Leighton

Reneé Rapp stars as Leighton, a bright and entitled young woman from a very wealthy family in New York. She’s judgmental and hates that she has an empathetic side. Leighton is a fourth-generation legacy at Essex.
Whitney

Alyah Chanelle Scott stars as Whitney. Strong and self-assured with a dry sense of humor, Whitney is the soon-to-be star of the Essex soccer team. She is also the only daughter of the most powerful Black senator in the country (Sherri Shepherd).
