The Characters

Kimberly

Pauline Chalamet stars as Kimberly, the valedictorian of a public high school in a humble Arizona suburb. Smart, caring, earnest, and ambitious, she’s prepared for college academically — but not so much socially.
Bela

Amrit Kaur stars as Bela, who is comedy-obsessed, super confident, and by most standards, “a lot.” Bela is never afraid to say what she’s thinking. She describes herself as “extremely sex-positive” — even though she has no sexual experience.
Leighton

Reneé Rapp stars as Leighton, a bright and entitled young woman from a very wealthy family in New York. She’s judgmental and hates that she has an empathetic side. Leighton is a fourth-generation legacy at Essex.
Whitney

Alyah Chanelle Scott stars as Whitney. Strong and self-assured with a dry sense of humor, Whitney is the soon-to-be star of the Essex soccer team. She is also the only daughter of the most powerful Black senator in the country (Sherri Shepherd).
