The Dancer Upstairs (HBO)

John Malkovich made his directorial debut with this film about a Latin American police detective who hunts for a serial terrorist while falling for his daughter's beautiful ballet teacher. As the cop's leads result in dead ends, he finds comfort in the company of his daughter's beautiful instructor--who may hold the key to the madman's identity.
